Reform Party of Harris County |
There are multiple ways you can participate, ranging from minimal to regular activity. Here is a general list of the levels or types of activity from most active to least active:
County Officers and Task Leads: These are individuals who are willing to participate year-round, including (up to) weekly online discussion, feedback, or voting. These are elected or appointed positions.
Precinct Chairmen: Much less time required than for officers and leads. Precinct Chairman are typically asked to provide online feedback or voting approximately once per month. During election years, they are asked to assist in setting up and running a Precinct Convention in their precinct. These are elected or appointed positions.
Activist Member: These are people who may not hold a formal position in the organization, but who choose to participate in activities and discussions. Actual time or activity depends on what they are willing to do. These are volunteer positions.
Party Member: Being a Party Member requires only that you attend one Precinct Convention every 2 years, OR that you sign a petition for ballot access every 2 years, OR that you otherwise obtain membership by contacting your County Chairman. There are no other time commitments by you are encouraged to tell your family and friends about us!
Friends For Reform: These are individuals who are not eligible to join or are not comfortable joining the Reform Party. These include those who can not vote because of age or residency status, and those who wish to maintain their membership in another Party but are sympathetic to us. Friends For Refor may join our mailing list, participate in informal discussion, and participate in activism events, but can not vote on formal Party Business or hold a position in our Party organization.
